The Rosary Crusade for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart

12 Million Rosary CrusadeBishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX), has announced a rosary crusade to obtain the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI in union with the Catholic bishops of the world. The crusade began in May, 2009 and will end on March 25, 2010, the Feast of the Annunciation. The stated goal is to present to the Holy Father 12 million rosaries and 12 million sacrifices of reparation to the Immaculate Heart, according to the mandate of Our Lady of Fatima. This crusade is open to all Catholics, not only those who attend Mass at chapels serviced by SSPX priests. The Year of the Priest and Plenary Indulgence

Year of the PriestOn March 25th, the Feast of St. Mark, 2009, Pope Benedict announced the Year of the Priest, which begins on the Feast of the Sacred Heart, 2009 and lasts one year.

SPECIAL INDULGENCE GRANTED BY POPE BENEDICT XVI. The Plenary Indulgence is granted to all the faithful who are truly repentant who, in church or in chapel, devoutly attend the divine Sacrifice of Mass and offer prayers to Jesus Christ the Eternal High Priest, for the priests of the Church, and any other good work which they have done on that day, so that he may sanctify them and form them in accordance with His Heart, as long as they have made expiation for their sins through sacramental confession and prayed in accordance with the Supreme Pontiff's intentions: on the days in which the Year for Priests begins and ends, on the day of the 150th anniversary of the pious passing of St John Mary Vianney, on the first Thursday of the month or on any other day established by the local Ordinaries for the benefit of the faithful.
